| Description |
| The Department of Leadership, Technology, and Human Development offers advanced study opportunities in Instructional Technology. These courses provide teachers, media specialists, instructional supervisors, and postsecondary personnel the skills and competencies necessary to select and use technology in all its forms. Attention is directed to the unique needs of individuals who aspire to leadership positions in the Instructional Technology field. The program operates two tracks. One track is designed for individuals who seek certification as school library media specialists while the other track is a non-certification track designed for individuals who want to work in PreK-12, higher education, or business and industry in an instructional technology position. |
| Admissions Requirements |
| All potential students should apply through GeorgiaOnMyLine. Below are the items that are required for admission into the program: A completed Georgia Southern University Application for Admission - Graduate, including a $50 (US) non-refundable application fee in the form of a credit card (MasterCard, American Express or Discover) or electronic check drawn on a United States bank. Official transcripts from each college or university previously attended. Transcripts must be designated as official and sent directly from the institution(s) previously attended to the Office of Admissions. Transcripts marked "Issued to Student" will not be accepted. Applicants who have attended Georgia Southern University are not required to submit Georgia Southern transcripts. Official test scores may be required for the selected program. Scores must be current, within the last five years, and sent directly from the testing agency to the Office of Admissions. |

| Transfer Policies |
| A maximum of nine hours can be transferred into the program. Hours that are allowed to be transferred into the program are dependent upon the approval of the academic advisor. |

| Special Program Requirements |
| To earn certification as a school library media specialist in Georgia, an individual must complete the required program of study in Instructional Technology, hold a master's degree, and present a passing score on the appropriate GACE examination. Additional coursework is required for individuals who do not hold a basic teaching certificate. | |
| Special Program Prerequisites |
| To be admitted into the program, students must complete requirements for a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Students must also present a cumulative 2.50 grade point average (4.0 scale) or higher on all undergraduate and graduate work combined. Students who do not hold a clear, renewable Georgia teaching certificate and must provide scores on the GRE or MAT. |
| Tuition and Fees |
This course qualifies under the special E-Rate tuition, which is $350 per credit hour.
